  3. official thoughts of TSN or other group members.

  5. I think they ARE the thought's of a LARGE % of UK traders/sysops
  6. (excluding those in TRD though!!).

  12. Ok some facts.

  14. Let's start with today's "release" from TRD (or is it TDR as someone
  15. in the group seems unsure!).

  17. Powerdrive AGA/HD Version by Rebel.

  20. The info file that was spread with it (no need for it as it could have
  21. been in the LHA archive) says that the game is AGA. TSN never claimed
  22. this and it is NOT in any way an AGA release. Please get your facts
  23. right! The file is a 1.3Mb LHA file - Oh good say the TRD traders but
  24. not really. In reality there are only 5 files needed on top of the TSN
  25. disk release - HD_RALLY, POWERDRIVE, POWERDRIVE.info, INSTALL-Instruct
  26. and RMENUS.RNC (changed from the TSN disk version).

  28. There was absolutely ZERO reason to release a 1.3Mb LHA when a 89k LHA
  29. would have done just as well. The ONLY reason is so that TRD can say
  30. that they have released a few more Mb this week.

  35. Well, some groups do and some don't release coverdisks. TRD do, and in
  36. a big way. It's a matter of opinion but a helluva lot of sysops nuke
  37. coverdisks and I personally agree. Please TRD, why not SAY so and save
  38. the sysops the wasted time in unDMSing this month's AF/AP/CU or whatever
  39. coverdisk U release.

  41. CD32/AGA

  44. Well, fuck me but someone in TRD has a wierd AGA machine if they thought
  45. that Xenon 2 CD32/AGA has ANY AGA GFX in it. Maybe it is the same dude
  46. who claimed TSN's Powerdrive is AGA! Ummmm I think it might also help if
  47. someone told TRD that they have managed so far to release two (or more?)
  48. CDTV titles from some years back claiming they are CD32/AGA titles.

  50. Do Xenon 2 and Sim City ring any bells? Sure, Charon is a great supplier
  51. but I think these went to TRD cos no-one else wanted to release 2 year
  52. old CDTV titles where someone has just changed a file date or stamped
  53. CD32 compatible on a new label.

  58. I would not say TRD are a waste of space (although it has been mentioned to
  59. me by one UK sysop of a well known BBS that some other sysop friends and he
  60. were about to introduce a ban on TRD releases as they were ALL shit).

  62. Rebel is capable and active and at the risk of saying something positive I
  63. can respect some of his releases, the HD versions mainly.

  65. Please TRD, don't just release any old shit to say that your group have
  66. released something. Remember the old maxim "Quality not Quantity" ???

  73. Once a great group and now shit. Or so it may seem. Someone in HLM come
  74. back to me on this.

  76. There is a version of Powerdrive doing the rounds from HLM (or so it says).
  77. HLM never had this title and basically just took the TSN release and re-did
  78. it claiming they had done it. It's not hard on a DOS disk to add some text
  79. or an intro. We in TSN did NOT have text or an intro, just the DMS text
  80. and FILE_ID.DIZ.

  82. HLM can crack - Black Cat is experienced. If you cannot get your own
  83. releases don't bother. Whoever did that "release", and I find it hard
  84. to believe it was a HLM member, just made HLM look lame.

  88. In order to assist those who are confused as to who really released Power-
  89. drive (not AGA!!!)... here is a silly little intro to put on the disk. Just
  90. edit S/STARTUP-SEQUENCE to include TSN-Intro as line 1 and copy the file
  91. onto disk 1. Or ask an alleged "Hoodlum Member" to assist!!

  98. Just a quick hello to Felon/PDY - it would be nice if your trainer for
  99. Jetstrike acknowledged TSN UK's crack. I'll give U the benefit of the
  100. doubt and assume you saw the HLM version and got confused. Well, we will
  101. put some more stuff out soon for U to train. If you can call the UK
  102. get it off Entity BBS. We'd like to see you there.

  105. slag file.
